SSQ Riverstone is one of the highest quality roofing slates and is suitable for a wide range of applications. Beautiful, cost-effective and guaranteed to perform to the most demanding international standards, Riverstone is in demand throughout Europe and the US and its popularity is growing rapidly within the UK. The demand for SSQ Riverstone is met through SSQ’s highly efficient distribution network.
SSQ Riverstone is a distinctive grey/green colour. The colouring is completely natural and will not fade even when exposed to the harshest of environments. SSQ Riverstone is available with a dressed edge finish.
Excerpts from Report entitled ‘Riverstone Natural Roofing Slate – the geology, test performance and use’; STATS Consultancy, Herfordshire, Sept 2002).
SSQ Riverstone has a slightly coarser grain size than most slates (due to its geological composition), which provides it with a rougher surface texture that imparts a more rustic feel.
Resists the potentially daily cycles of wetting and drying and heating and cooling. The combination of phyllosilicate and silica minerals provides strength without significant brittleness, making holing smooth with few resultant breakages.
The physical, mechanical and chemical features are equivalent and often superior to many of the best roofing slates from around the globe, including those from the UK, Spain and America.
SSQ Riverstone has been tested to the most stringent international standards and has met the highest testing standards for natural slate. SSQ will provide a life expectancy guarantee of at least 75 years for SSQ Riverstone.
SSQ Riverstone roofing slate is produced in three different thicknesses to suit individual preferences and to reflect the indigenous style of specific regions.
