Technical - Quality
Quality Standards:
Quality standards vary from country to country. In the case of imported slates, experience in the UK and the US has shown that the BS 680 and the ASTM does not always provide a guarantee against poor quality, and some slates imported into these countries do not even meet these standard. The French Testing Standard P32/302 is regarded as the most comprehensive and demanding of all standards for natural slate and SSQ Riverstone, SSQ Del Carmen, and SSQ Matacouta are certified Class A.
In addition to the British standard and regardless of its destination, SSQ slates are produced to the highest international standards. Including:
BS 680 part 2: 1971
German Standard DIN 522201 - 522206
French Standard P32/302, Class A
American Standard ASTM, S1
Quality Control:
All SSQ products undergo strict quality control at every stage of their journey to their final destination. Each pallet that leaves a quarry is subject to inspection and certification, this certification will be seen by SSQ employees, distributors, and customers. Independent, random spot checks are also carried out to ensure the dimensions and composition of any given product properly match its specification.
Notes:
Due to the natural composition of the stone small variations in colour may occur in the floor tiles and roofing slates.
