St. John’s Episcopal Church – SSQ Del Carmen 20”x 10” was selected for its color, exceptional flatness and time tested quality.
St. John’s Episcopal Church was founded in 1850 in the city of Keokuk at the extreme southeast corner of Iowa. The church is a combination of Gothic Revival and Richardsonian Romanesque styles and is situated just a few blocks west of the Mississippi River. It is listed together with the parish hall on the National Register of Historic Places.
Renaissance Roofing, an experienced contractor in historic roof restorations, were charged with the task of restoring the 200m2 natural slate roof of St John’s. Seeking an unfading black natural slate, SSQ Del Carmen 20”x 10” was selected for its color, exceptional flatness and time-tested quality.

Trinity United Methodist Church was completed using SSQ Del Carmen Unfading Black slates.
Founded in 1891, Trinity United Methodist Church in Columbus, Ohio remains in its current location since 1951 after a total of three moves. The church buildings are also home to the Trinity United Methodist Preschool.
Recently, the church building went trough a rejuvenation with roofing works consisting of new slate and custom fabricated copper flashings installation. The job was completed by The Durable Slate Company – a locally based award winning roofing contractor.
